GoToMeeting and WebEx Face Pressure

Synergy Research Group published their report of Enterprise Communications & Collaboration Market Analysis covering end of year 2010. It found that the overall market grew to $22.3 billion and that the strongest market segment, posting a 35% increase year over year, was telepresence/videoconferencing. Continue reading

Survey Says UK Companies Turning to Web Conferencing

The survey report cites cost and environmental impact (carbon footprint) as the two most important factors leading to these changes. This story was reported by David Jonas, writing for The Transnational, a multinational travel newsletter.

Overall, nearly all respondents said they expected their companies during the next 10 years to change how they conduct business “as a result of climate change.” About half of the survey sample said policies that encourage sustainable business travel already are in place. Customer preferences in online web conferencing may be moving away from standalone solutions, according to the results of a recent report from AMI-Partners, quoted by Mark Cox, writing for eChannelLine. The report states that
